Matters Arising:
Agricultural show - 28th August bank holiday:
This was revisited - for the second time - as it was pointed out that the Agricultural committee had helped
the school financially in the past with grounds & fencing and with the chickens. It was felt that the school
should be represented as it is an important community event. It was agreed that we should ask Mr
Brasington if he wants a presence there. Also to see if any parents would be willing to help - or take on
organising some childrens races during the show. In the past this has only taken an hour or so to run.
Kate to email Mr Brasington & class reps and see if anyone can help, as nothing has progressed since the
last meeting.
Beer & band night
• The Bandits will bring their own PA system and all own equipment including lights. They need to get
into the hall during the afternoon to set up.
• Suggestion that the support band should be acoustic if possible.
• Jane was mentioned as a possibility of a singer - friend of Sally.
• Anna still contacting Calling card, who could set up on the floor.
• Agreed that capacity is 200 and band members are extra to that number.
• Tickets will be stamped when people arrive and then they have to keep hold of them in order to
hand them in in exchange for food.
• FOOD: Hog Roast - Chris & Richard to sort this out. Rachel & Kate to organise the veggie option of
jacket potatoes and fillings. Kate to contact Holdsworth in Crickhowell. Numbers of 225 hog roast &
75 jacket potatoes. Band to be fed for free. Sally to source forks.
• BAR: Anna has the license and can sort out beers. Also need Red & White wine, Lager & Cider.
Lemonade & soft drinks. Sally to contact Bacchus in Crickhowell. Hester to check numbers of plastic
glasses held in school already. Anna has suggested free glass hire from Morrisons where we can buy
cheap wine & lemonade. Class reps to be asked to help with bar staff. Suggestion that we have three
shifts (7.30pm-9pm, 9pm-10.30pm & 10.30pm-12.00), with four people per shift. 12 people required
altogether. Also if anybody wants to offer to work on the bar all night, then they can have a free
ticket.
• Richard to provide float.
• Anna/Sally to organise hamper for raffle.
• Sally has napkins already and bowls for use for jacket pots.
• Teachers at school to be approached as to whether they will be attending or would be willing to help
with bar.
• Tickets need to be available from school office in September - Caroline to speak to Andrew/Akemi
• Tickets also available from the Star in Talybont and other members of the Friends committee
• Kate to email new posters to parents and ask them to print out copies and put them up where they
can to help advertise the event.

• There are a few payments outstanding - these are to be followed up individually.
• There was a short discussion around repeating this sponsored event next year as it was so
successfull. Possibly using the same routes or exploring alternative options.
