5th December 2008 - Llangynidr School Xmas Fair

Well everyone we did it again!...... another record breaking fundraiser and another fun filled evening!

It certainly looked like everyone was having a fab time, especially if the amount of prizes handed out were anything to go by!

It was great to see you all trying out the new games and food!  Well done to Liam and Ben for whacking the most moles.

(PLEASE NOTE: NO real moles were really harmed during this game!)

And well done to Bethan who is no

w the proud owner of the goldfish.

We have SO MANY people to thank for the success of the evening that I think if they were all named you'd probably lose the will to live!

However.............. there are a few really special ones to thank (Don't worry I'll make it quick!)

Firstly, the Howarth family and Bonbon Buddies for the amazing prizes and gifts they donated, without these the xmas fair would simply NOT be!

and lastly to EVERY PARENT & TEACHER who gave up their time on the evening to help........ this leads me nicely to a few helpers who simply surpassed themselves on the night! ......

Kate & jodie Buck

If there was an award for the MOST HARASSED STALL at the fair then the crossbow challenge would be it.  Unfortunately for Kate and her daughter they were stuck on it ALL night! (there was not a sane person amongst us that wanted to relieve them of their duty!).  I am quite sure that they will both need some form of therapy to ever go near a plastic dart again!  Thank you both for really going above and beyond.

As a shameless plug (and apology!) for Kate, the yummy pork that was on sale at the xmas fair was supplied by Kate

June Alp-Williams

June needs to be recognised (and apologised for!) for her amazing (aggressive on times!) sales techniques.  She single handedly managed to raise the most money on her stall, which either proves she could sell ice to the eskimo's or Llangynidr is full of alcoholics!!  The Alp-Williams family also donated all the wine thus securing maximum profit! and amazing generosity.  If you do pop around to Jun's for a glass of wine, you will probably have to make do with a cup of tea now!.

Kate & Edwina Hardy

A big thanks to Kate (Ex Pupil!) from "Pamper Parties" who kindly offered to pamper all the little girls with her mini makeovers.  Kate is also avaliable for parties and bar mitzvas... well, maybe not the barmitzvar bit!

Jane The Cook!

A huge thanks to Jane for allowing the use of the School Kitchen and for giving up her time to help at the event.  A special thank you from Hester for keeping Gareth contained in the kitchen!

Emma (Rhys Morris's Auntie)

Emma has applied to her employer HSBC for match funding the Xmas fair.  If successful it could add another £500 to the event! so, thanks Emma for your help, your an auntie in a million!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported us in one way or another!
